Public Speaking - The Critical First 5 Minutes:

Presentation Skills and "Electability":

Any election race is a great study in public speaking and presentation skills.

But the national focus on the presidential campaign makes for an especially good opportunity to better understand how to shape people's perceptions with presentation skills.

The word "electability" shows up multiple times in a search on CNN.com, but does not survive a spell check in Microsoft programs, but does show up in a search on dictionary.com.

How do we gauge "electability", a candidates chance of winning? Sure there are actual facts of super delegates and campaign money that come into play in the race between Obama and Clinton for the Democratic front-runner, but when we're down to choosing between Obama and McCain (which it looks more and more like it'll be those two vying for the presidency) how will we THEN determine electability?

That's right - it'll be based on a gut-feel we have based on how they present themselves in public - that's called public speaking and presentation skills.

A Presidential Presentation Style? Did you see the Republican party's presumptive nominee John McCain on the Daily Show with John Stewart this week? How last week on Saturday Night Live, did you happen to catch that?
